The corrosion-inhibitor chemistry a coolant protects the cooling system with — inorganic (IAT), organic (OAT), or hybrid (HOAT). It is the fact that decides whether two coolants may be put in the same engine: mixing an OAT charge with an IAT one drops both out of solution, and mixing a phosphated OAT with a silicated one attacks the very seals each was formulated to protect. IT IS PUBLISHED IN A DIFFERENT PLACE BY EVERY HOUSE, which is exactly why it must be a stored token rather than read off a layout: TotalEnergies puts it in the product's own subtitle ('Ready-to-use coolant - O.A.T.'), Chevron/Texaco Delo XLC puts it in body prose ('extended life OAT (Organic Additive Technology) formulation') with no table row at all, Valvoline ZEREX G-05 names HOAT in its description, and Shellzone prints no technology word anywhere — only a numeric characteristics row, 'Silicate (as Anhydrous Alkali Metasilicate) | % | 0.09', from which the chemistry has to be inferred. It is ORTHOGONAL to `base_fluid` and not a duplicate of it — an IAT and an OAT coolant are both mono-ethylene glycol, and the inhibitor package is a different layer of the formulation entirely. It has no meaning outside a coolant: no engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid or grease datasheet describes its additive package this way, because none of them is protecting a mixed-metal water circuit. Concern identity, so NOT axis-eligible: an OAT coolant and an IAT coolant are two listings, and offering them as one buy-box toggle would be an invitation to ruin an engine.
