responsible person

also called responsible operator

The legally-accountable economic operator stated for the product's safety compliance — the operator a market requires be named and reachable for a product placed on it (the EU General Product Safety Regulation's 'responsible person', a market's authorised representative or importer of record). The literal value is the responsible party's stated name as printed on the listing or label — a short single-line name, hence plain text, exactly as the offer's party name is. Cardinality many, because a product sold across markets names a responsible party for each. Region-neutral by construction: the pool holds the stated shape, never a governed jurisdiction word; the party's full identity — common name, address, contact — is a data-layer record (the phonebook), exactly as a stock place or an offer's party name is. Distinct from the offer's party (offered_by, pricing): that is who states the deal; this is who answers for the product's safety, whether or not they sell it.

Responsible person is free text, written for one product alone and never shared as a category.
