socket profile
also called hex profile · six-point or twelve-point
Whether the shell's nut is an ordinary six-flat hex or a twelve-point bi-hex. It is a separate fact from `hex_size` and not a qualifier on it [A9], because it has a home of its own and carries no correlated bundle — and it is needed because the size alone returns the wrong socket: NGK's ILKAR7B11 (shell code KA) and PLZKBR7B8DG (shell code KB) agree on thread size, reach, seat, heat rating, suppression AND hex size at 14 mm, and NGK's own footnote says the second one needs a bi-hexagonal socket.
Socket profile is answered with one word chosen from the hex profiles list — the same word shared across every product that uses it.
It belongs to measurement — its measurable, physical facts.
